two paths, one workshop

andreas
I'm Andreas. I was never a furniture maker, I was a musician. My days were filled with cables, electricity and speakers, not a workbench. When the sound was gone, I found myself in the garage and built my first piece of furniture from wood and metal. I sold it at the door.
luigi
I'm Luigi. I come from the world of images. Film, media and stories were my everyday life.
Two completely different people, two different paths. And one shared vision: bringing traditional craft and timeless art together. These two perspectives created what AMK is today. We have never tried to stage anything. Our work is not polished smooth, but it is honest.
six people, no trained cabinetmaker
An electrician, a cameraman, an engineer, a brewer, a tailor and a financier. None of us trained in the craft we practise today. That is precisely why we have no fixed idea of what something should look like. We share the workshop with sculptor Aron Demetz.

wood, metal, resin
Eighty-five percent of our wood comes from South Tyrol. Solid wood meets cast and welded metal, with resin and leather where needed. We apply no colour to the raw material. What you see is the colour of the wood. It can take three years from cutting the tree to the finished piece. The wood must be treated and stored properly.
